On August 15, 2008, portrait artist, Scott Glazier will embark on a solo cycling expedition. Equipped with only his bicycle, sketching materials and a deep dedication to raising awareness (and funds) for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Glazier will stop in the following cities to sketch individuals battling pancreatic cancer: Barstow, CA Death Valley Junction, NV Las Vegas, NV Cedar City, UT Monticello, UT Montrose, CO Pueblo, CO Boulder, CO Scott City, KS Wichita, KS Chanute, KS Stockton, MO St. Louis, MO Champaign, IL Chicago, IL Marseilles, IL The portraits will be auctioned off at a closing reception, set to take place in Chicago on November 14, 2008. Proceeds from the auctioned portraits will benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Individuals who sit for a portrait along the route will receive a complimentary copy of their sketch.
