“I feel strongly that it's my mission to be an advocate, a voice, because so many pancreatic cancer patients don't get the opportunity to do so. So many wonderful people have come into my life, whom I never would have met otherwise. It fills my heart with joy when new volunteers say ‘I want to become part of this group, and make a difference, like you are!’ Our affiliate has made an impact building awareness, fund raising, and equally important, creating a real community for survivors, families and friends.”

December 2014

Our Louisville Affiliate recently held a painting social in December 2014 at Uptown Art. Our pictures feature a Christmas wreath with a fleur-de-lis and a purple ribbon for pancreatic cancer. We had a blast together finding the inner artist in each of us!

Louisville Affiliate on the news!

The Louisville Affiliate's Media Relations Chair, Ann Brown, and Community Engagement Chair Catherine McKinley recently had an interview with Louisville's local NBC Affiliate, WAVE3 News. They discuss their upcoming PurpleLight event and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network's PALS program. Check out the interview here: http://www.wave3.com/clip/11117555/purplelight

PurpleLight Louisville 2015

Louisville came together to honor, inspire and remember all those affected by pancreatic cancer at PurpleLight on March 1, 2015. Survivors, family and friends illuminated purple glow sticks as they heard their loved ones’ names read aloud, helping to light the night purple. Louisville was joined by thousands of participants at more than 20 PurpleLight events across the country, bringing solidarity, comfort and hope to the pancreatic cancer community.

Photos will be posted at www.purplelight.org when they are available.
