“I feel strongly that it's my mission to be an advocate, a voice, because so many pancreatic cancer patients don't get the opportunity to do so. So many wonderful people have come into my life, whom I never would have met otherwise. It fills my heart with joy when new volunteers say ‘I want to become part of this group, and make a difference, like you are!’ Our affiliate has made an impact building awareness, fund raising, and equally important, creating a real community for survivors, families and friends.”

PurpleStride Tampa Bay 2014!

PurpleStride Tampa Bay was an incredible evebt! Thank you so much to all of the volunteers, donors, participants and survivors that made the event a huge success!

Because of your efforts, we raised nearly $200,000 for the fight against pancreatic cancer! We'd also like extend our gratitute to Progressive Engineering & Construction for Greg Rorech for being our presenting sponsor and for all of your help with this event. Thank you everyone!

We are still short of our goal! Please continue to check back on our progress and send friends and family to donate at www.purplestride.org/tampabay.

PurpleLight Tampa Bay 2013

Tampa Bay went purple on October 27, 2013 for PurpleLight National Vigil for Hope. Family and friends of those touched by pancreatic cancer came together to gain both comfort and encouragement by illuminating purple glow sticks as they heard their loved ones’ names read aloud. Joined by nearly 20,000 participants in more than 80 communities across the country, this marked the largest participation in PurpleLight history and helped kick off National Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.

Photos will be posted at www.purplelight.org when they are available.

There are many ways you can support the local fight and join other friendly volunteers committed to fighting pancreatic cancer. Whether you have ten minutes or are looking for a more extensive commitment, we have a role for you. Our volunteers focus on several key areas: raising general awareness, media, education and outreach to healthcare professionals, advocacy and fundraising and awareness events.

We are not currently looking to fill any core role positions in Tampa Bay.
