“I feel strongly that it's my mission to be an advocate, a voice, because so many pancreatic cancer patients don't get the opportunity to do so. So many wonderful people have come into my life, whom I never would have met otherwise. It fills my heart with joy when new volunteers say ‘I want to become part of this group, and make a difference, like you are!’ Our affiliate has made an impact building awareness, fund raising, and equally important, creating a real community for survivors, families and friends.”

PurpleStride Rhode Island 2014

PurpleStride Rhode Island presented by Ocean State Job Lot on May 4 was a success!

We had more than 1,250 participants join us at Goddard Memorial Park, including 80 volunteers and 15 survivors. Together we were able to raise $232,000 for the fight against pancreatic cancer.

Thank you to the volunteers, sponsors and donors who made this success possible.

PurpleLight Rhode Island 2014

Rhode Island came together to honor, inspire and remember all those affected by pancreatic cancer at PurpleLight on October 26, 2014. Survivors, family and friends illuminated purple glow sticks as they heard their loved ones’ names read aloud, helping to light the night purple. Rhode Island was joined by thousands of participants at more than 45 PurpleLight events across the country, bringing solidarity, comfort and hope to the pancreatic cancer community.

Photos will be posted at www.purplelight.org when they are available.
