This morning, the Trump administration released its “skinny” FY2018 budget proposal. The budget proposal would cut funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) by about 20 percent.

A cut of this size would be extremely detrimental to pancreatic cancer research.

Take action NOW to let your members of Congress know you are counting on them to reject these cuts and to prioritize cancer research funding.

This is essential because while the President may offer proposals, Congress ultimately creates the budget and has the power to ensure federal research funding continues and increases – but they need to hear from you.

“Cutting research funding would be damaging to the progress that we’ve made against this very complex disease,” explains Megan Gordon Don, vice president of government affairs & advocacy at the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. “Pancreatic cancer has the lowest five-year survival rate of all major cancers at just 9 percent, and we urgently need more federal funding to improve treatment options and outcomes for patients.”

You can help defeat these cuts by contacting your members of Congress today.

Please take action right now.
