Michelle’s dad lost his pancreatic cancer battle on August 17, 1995, when he was just 40 years old and she was 13. She is 34 now, and volunteering has been one of the most rewarding experiences in her life, she said. “I’m a firm believer that what you put in is what you get out.
“I feel like a hero fighting the good fight! I continue to meet the most amazing people, and many of those people are now amazing friends. We laugh, we cry, we have fun, and to top it all off, we make a difference! Volunteering with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network has given me passion and purpose, and it makes me smile every day.
“Join our purple army! You’ll be joining the most amazing and impactful organization fighting pancreatic cancer. You’ll be part of a mission to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020. You’ll be part of something bigger than yourself.”
