About Us
We are creating a world in which all patients with pancreatic cancer will thrive.
Our mission is to take bold action to improve the lives of everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer by advancing scientific research, sharing knowledge, advocating for patients and building community.
Thanks to the generous support of donors like you, PanCAN is an incredible resource for patients and families facing this devastating disease. We are accelerating efforts to detect the disease earlier and get promising treatments to patients sooner.
Together, we can change the story of this disease.
Our Comprehensive Approach
PanCAN is the leading organization dedicated to advancing progress against pancreatic cancer for patients today and in the future. We unite the pancreatic cancer community and push every boundary to create a world where survival is the norm – not the exception.
We are the only national pancreatic cancer organization to fight the disease on all fronts – through patient support, research, advocacy and community building.
PanCAN is the only pancreatic cancer organization to offer direct patient services, providing support to patients and families. Our talented team of Case Managers provide free resources, in English and in Spanish, about treatment options, clinical trials, diet and nutrition and more.

With your support, we are funding the next generation of discoveries. PanCAN has invested more than $200 million in research – funding investigators who have built the field and launching PanCAN’s own innovative research initiatives.

We work with thousands of grassroots advocates across the country to urge Congress to increase federal research funding for pancreatic cancer – and we get results. Our advocacy has helped to boost the National Cancer Institute’s funding for pancreatic cancer by more than 11-fold since 1999 and we continue to fight to protect and increase federal funding for pancreatic cancer research.
Take action.
PanCAN brings together experts in healthcare, pharma and government through its Research Advisory Collaborative and mobilizes a nationwide grassroots volunteer network who are single-minded in their pursuit of progress. Our PanCAN PurpleStride community raised more than $17 million this past year to fund our critical research and programs and services for patients.

Moving Forward: Our Bold Five-Year Plan
In 1999, PanCAN took on the world’s toughest cancer. It was a daunting task, but we were up to the challenge. Continuing the progress patients with pancreatic cancer and their families deserve will require the full strength of our growing PanCAN community working to accelerate progress on all fronts.
Our core strength — our comprehensive approach — will provide the foundation as we navigate the path directly in front of us today and toward 20% five-year survival by 2030.
In order to accelerate progress for patients and reach our bold goals, PanCAN will:
Build a thriving pancreatic cancer research community by convening, supporting and advocating for stakeholders committed to advancing progress for patients.
Empower all patients and families to make informed decisions throughout their pancreatic cancer journey by providing comprehensive information and resources through PanCAN Patient Services.
Drive earlier detection of pancreatic cancer by supporting and implementing strategies that advance research and educate the public and healthcare professionals.
Catalyze the discovery and development of new therapeutic options for patients by strategically deploying PanCAN resources and serving as the convener across stakeholders in the pancreatic cancer ecosystem.
Harness the power of data and AI to accelerate research and new patient solutions for pancreatic cancer. The emergence of AI enables PanCAN researchers to make predictive connections across large amounts of disparate data at a scale never before possible.
