For the 11th year in a row, we received Charity Navigator’s four-star rating for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency.
Investing in Research
- Invested $6.8 million in research, a 21 percent increase over our FY 2014 investment
- Awarded 13 grants, bringing the total number of grants awarded to date to 123
- Completed an evaluation of our grants program (grants awarded 2003-2013) and found that for every dollar awarded by our organization, our grantees have secured an average of $8.28 in subsequent funding
Supporting Patients With Vital Services
- Launched the Know Your TumorSM personalized medicine service and are growing patient enrollment
- Increased the total number of clinical trial searches by 17 percent
- Launched the online Clinical Trial Finder tool to give patients and healthcare professionals convenient access to clinical trial information
Gaining Congressional Support
- Hosted our second-largest National Pancreatic Cancer Advocacy Day ever, with nearly 600 participants hailing from every state and 365 meetings held with members of Congress
- Helped ensure the passage by the House of Representatives of H.R. 6, the 21st Century Cures Act, intended to provide an additional $8.75 billion over 5 years to the National Institutes of Health (which provides about 80 percent of the funding for pancreatic cancer research through the National Cancer Institute)
- Ensured that pancreatic cancer was included in both the House and Senate committee mark-ups of the Department of Defense appropriations bill
- Co-hosted a successful congressional briefing with the Congressional Caucus on the Deadliest Cancers
Raising Awareness
- Launched our new Wage Hope brand and organizational logo
- Co-chaired and helped launch the first-ever World Pancreatic Cancer Day to raise awareness globally for the disease
