The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is a place where anyone can receive information and updates about our organization and pancreatic cancer.
Public Comments: We do not verify any information shared by those commenting on our social media platforms. The comments, opinions, and statements made by these individuals do not necessarily reflect the views, policies or practices of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
Who we follow: It is up to the discretion of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to decide which Twitter, Facebook or other social media accounts to follow and/or friend on our social media platforms. Any account, person, organization, or company that we choose to follow or friend does not indicate an endorsement of the account owner or their products or services. We may provide links or references to other sites through our Twitter, Facebook or other social media accounts, however, these links are provided merely as a convenience to the users of our platforms and we claim no responsibility for the content of such other sites and shall not be liable for any damages or injury arising from that content. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network reserves all rights relating to its Twitter account including, but not limited to, all rights to add, remove or modify any content or material posted on the account, discontinue the account, accept or reject those who may wish to follow the account and respond to any questions or comments addressed to the account.
Personal information: Remember social media platforms are open, public forums and do not provide a platform for private communication. Please do not ask any personal health related questions for yourself or a loved one regarding pancreatic cancer or other health related issues. Additionally, please do not post any personal information on the social media platforms, either your own or another user, including account number, address, password or credit card number. This also includes email addresses, other contact details and copies of private emails or messages.
Community Forum: The purpose of our social media communities is to share information and inform the public in a responsible and informative manner. By sharing what you know, you can make a positive contribution to our community. Differences of opinion are welcome but it is not permitted to post anything that is obscene or otherwise objectionable, that harasses, abuses, bullies or threatens others or that is intended to harass, abuse, bully or threaten others. Your comments should be relevant to the area or topic where they are placed. The posting of spam, commercial messaging, marketing materials, or content that violates any copyright, trademark or other rights of a third party is not allowed and will be removed. When quoting any other blog or publication, be sure to link to the original (if possible) and use quotation marks or blockquotes (for longer texts). Any posts with profanities, racist, sexist, abusive, threatening, defamatory, obscene or pornographic content in them will be deleted. Any posts which contain illegal material will also be deleted. Any posts with a link directing users to any information or content that, if posted on the forum, would constitute a violation of these community guidelines will be deleted. Reference to religion or any religious entities, figures or symbols is strictly prohibited. We want our online communities to be a place everyone can feel safe. Do not post anything that violates the laws of your country, state, province or city.
Fundraising: The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network appreciates businesses that are interested in supporting our cause and personal fundraising efforts, but unfortunately we can’t endorse them or promote them via our social media platforms. Medical information, new studies, and treatment suggestions: We will announce updates and/or make a public statement on our social media platforms once our Research and Scientific Affairs Department has reviewed the information.
