In August of 2007, I was diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer, due to blood vessel involvement and the size of the tumor (greater than 6.5 cm).  In September of that year I went through five and a half weeks of continuous chemotherapy with 28 radiation treatments.  The radiation caused two stomach ulcers that caused complications.

However, every monthly scan after that kept showing that the tumor was shrinking.  About three years ago the tumor was small enough to consider surgery.  Because I was feeling so good and the tumor was shrinking, I turned down the Whipple procedure.  Last month, six years after diagnosis, I was indirectly told by my oncologist that I may be cured.
