In honor of her distinguished contributions to the field of cancer biology, Lynn Matrisian, PhD, MBA, chief science officer at the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) was recently named 2023 American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Fellow. This stands out as a notable lifetime achievement within the scientific community.

“It’s a privilege to be named an AAAS Fellow for my work within the pancreatic cancer field and its translation to help improve patient outcomes,” said Matrisian. “With this esteemed honor, I join the ranks of some of the most prominent scientists in history.”

AAAS is one of the world’s largest general scientific societies and publisher of the Science family of journals. The honor of being elected a Fellow of AAAS began in 1874. This year’s Fellows are at the forefront of discussions about emerging technologies, semiconductor production, environmental issues, science education, innovative therapies, and more as the world grapples with societal concerns around these topics. This latest class of Fellows is comprised of 502 scientists, engineers, and innovators across 24 AAAS disciplinary Sections.
