SEASONED DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE JOINS THE PANCREATIC CANCER ACTION NETWORK LEADERSHIP TEAM

Manhattan Beach, CA (December 9, 2014) – The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is pleased to welcome Michael Burton as vice president of development. Burton will lead strategic growth initiatives and development activities for the organization. With more than twenty years of experience in the philanthropic sector, Burton has honed his skills at some of the nation’s most highly regarded non-profit institutions.

“We are thrilled to have Michael join the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network executive team. His wealth of experience and industry knowledge makes him a vital addition to the organization as we work toward our goal to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020,” said Julie Fleshman, president and chief executive officer of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Before joining the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Burton held leadership roles in development at Princeton University, The American Association for Cancer Research and Fox Chase Cancer Center. He holds a Master’s Degree in government administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from the University of Pennsylvania. He also held a position on the grant-making staff for the Pew Charitable Trusts and as a special assistant to the president at his alma mater.
