THE PANCREATIC CANCER ACTION NETWORK WELCOMES MICHAEL A.G. KORENGOLD TO ITS NATIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Manhattan Beach, CA (May 6, 2014) — The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is pleased to announce finance executive Michael A.G. Korengold as the newest member of the organization’s National Board of Directors. Based in New York, Korengold’s commitment to fighting pancreatic cancer is rooted in the loss of his mother in 1995, after an 18-month battle with the disease.
“My mother was an incredibly vibrant woman and a pillar of the Minneapolis community. When the disease struck, not only did she have no hope of recovery, but we had no source of critical information, knowledgeable support or community of others sharing the experience to turn to,” said Korengold. “I am proud to honor her legacy and support the important work being done by the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. The organization provides critical resources and much-needed hope that my family did not have back in 1995 – before the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network was founded. I will do all that I can to ensure that the organization reaches its goal to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020.”
Currently, Korengold is President and Chief Executive Officer of Enhanced Capital, a national asset management firm focused on lending to businesses throughout the United States, and serves on the firm’s Investment Committees and Board of Directors. Prior to joining Enhanced Capital, he practiced law in Minneapolis and New Orleans, with an emphasis on corporate finance.
“With Michael’s breadth of business and finance experience and his passion for the cause, he will be an asset to our team as we work toward our goal to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020,” stated Julie Fleshman, president and CEO of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. “We look forward to working with him in this new capacity and ensuring progress is made against this devastating disease.”
